The website is talking specifically of supplemental protease enzymes destroying the body's own lipase (fat digesting enzymes).
But I don't know that I agree with this... I've taken comprehensive digestive enzymes (i.e., enzymes for protein, fats & carbs) for years without problems from them... In fact, I have much more trouble when I don't take the enzymes...

I don't have a Gallbladder, so enzymes are a must for me.
Very interesting! Maybe once I get a few more weeks of my new fermented veggies under my belt, I won't need the digestive enzymes!!

Lymetoo you would really like the book. They stress the importance of fermented foods.

I agree with Razzle -- hubby took Pancreatin and supplemental HCl in addition to ox bile supplements for many years. He could always tell a difference if he ran out of any of the products.
If you feel better taking them then I think I would continue taking them as long as you can afford them.
