I would think that if you are going to spend up to $1000 on a cold laser you should consider buying a photon device instead.
They use LEDs in the 880 range too but can be used as a anti bacterial protocol too. Search Photons, Bionic 880 or PE1 here on this site.
Good luck and all the best.

Thats the same machine my holistic chiro uses. I never had much improvement with pain, but I think it was very helpful with detox, lymphatic flow, meridian balance, and immune support.
The Erchonic macines are pricey. You migh be better off with an LED model canadianmama suggested.

I use cold laser at my doctor's office. It is enormously beneficial for my feeding tube site.
I've also had it help with tonsillitis and dental issues.
Most recently, we are using it in combination with Bowen therapy to treat my painful bunions...and it seems to be helping those too.
Cold laser is different than the LED photonic treatment, but I could see where either type of treatment could be beneficial when used within the scope of the technology.
Cold laser was developed to treat dental infections...

The Bionic or PE1 devices also help with mitochondria.
A friend of mine who has a broken wrist that is not healing well is currently using my Bionic at the direction of her husband, and MD. Her husband is all excited about the technology because he said it stimulates bone growth.

The LED's (light emitting diodes) in the light therapy devices transmit energy that the mitochondria absorb. The mitochondria in the cells make energy from oxygen and nutrients, and power the cells, and therefore power ~us~.
I have not read anything about LED light therapy regenerating stem cells...I wonder if the doctor got mixed up about that.
When our cells are working well, we feel good. When the cells are damaged, or when they lack the oxygen and nutrients to make energy, we feel fatigue and pain.
The only way to provide the cells with the nutrients they need is to eat good food. The skin does absorb some things, so you can take an Epsom Salt bath to get magnesium, or apply a B12 patch or a medication patch, but the skin is there mainly to provide a barrier.
If only these LED light therapy devices had been available when I was a nurse, we could have healed so many infections and bedsores. We could have treated every surgical patient to speed the healing, and every burn patient to regenerate the skin faster.
The technology is here, but doctors and hospitals are still not taking advantage of it.

Yes! And insurance companies are also less willing to cover non-pharaceutical treatments.

The LED is FDA approved to increase circulation to promote healing and it reduces pain. That is all it is approved for. It will increase endorphins and that is probably what helps ease the pain. The endorphins stimulate the immune system and make you feel calmer. I tried it for the infections and it did not heal me.
If you really want to stimulate endorphins, get LDN. It only costs $20 a month. The PE1 cost $1600 and is under my couch gathering dust. I keep it just in case my diabetic son ever get ulcers but so far the LDN is keeping him in remission.
Low Level Lazer or cold lazer is different. I have had treatments done at a chiropractor. It produced a lot of endorphins but did not cure me.

I read the first six abstracts and articles at the link you provided, and yes, I can see that research is being done in this area.
Obviously, I haven't been reading the right journals!
