I used distilled water and 1/4 tsp sea salt. i developed head cold type symptoms which i've had since yesterday. I didn't swallow any and felt i was able to drain all the water out.Would it be better if i boiled the water first?
i remember having similar symptoms years ago when i tried a humidifier, worse with tap water and somewhat better with bottled, but still not worth continuing.
i would like to be able to use the neti pot, as i think i have yeast issues there and would like to add some antifungals eventually.
any tips?
thx

Absolutely. But I would not use any water that has been store in a plastic container. If you filter your drinking water, that will work fine to boil and cool, partially covered by a ceramic dish or clean paper towel) so dust will not settle into the pot.
Also be sure the neti pot has been sterilized by washing and then running boiling over through it, too. -

Can i get distilled water that's not sold in plastic? Even my drinking water is in plastic,. I know i need to change this, but not sure the best route. Even the pitchers with filters they sell are plastic.
Feel too cognitively challenged to figure out the more complex systems.
I'll look into the nasal spray, maybe that would be a better way to go. i just bought some olive leaf complex liquid by barleans and was hoping to use it in the neti pot,oh well...

The same thing happened to me. The neti pot with saline seemed to irritate my sinuses and nose. I've been putting Muipirocin ointment which helped a lot. I've been doing it twice a day.
