I had mentioned in a previous post that I cut my amoxicillin dose in half ( from 1g 3 times daily to 500mg 3 times) in order to stretch my prescription until I could get in with a new doctor. I was at this low dose for 6 months.

Now back on amoxicillin but it does not seem to be helping me. Is it possible the lyme developed a resistance at this lower dosage?

The reason I ask is because my first doctor said since borrelia reproduce slowly they don't readily develop resistance. To be clear he didn't say this in the context of me stretching my prescription. I did that on my own.

But I am curious how likely is it that I have developed a resistance? Have any of you had to switch antibiotics because of resitance?

Thanks and I wish you all improved health

LuluBelle

I tried Biaxin for a real short time. I developed a bright red rash in my armpit so my doc took me off it.

Does this rash mean anything to you?

If it was a herx maybe I should try it again

Thanks !
