i think i've hurt my neck. since then my lyme symptoms are picking up big time.
i don't know if it's the diverticulitis, stress, the car thing, or what.
i'm now starting to sweat more at night, face is jerking, neck and shoulders extremely tight and hurt. cramps in legs, almost total insomnia, and now migraines coming back.
i was doing ok for awhile. but now am going backwards.
can things such as car accidents, falls, physical injuries cause lyme to become much worse??

- Q: can accidents cause lyme to flare??
Absolutely. Still, I would not attribute all these symptoms to lyme (and by lyme, I mean the full range of whatever tick-borne or chronic stealth infections may be in your mix).
The soft tissue injury can be quit profound and create pain for months. It's very difficult to heal soft tissue.
And the lower GI trouble affects the entire body, too.
I know you've never connected to a LL ND but now would be an excellent time, if possible, to do so. A LL ND can help you figure out which way to approach the full picture but also how to address each componet for some relief.
For instance, the trauma that TuTu mentions likely has "shocked" your adrenals. etc. etc. -

i do have a llmd. he says it's stress not lyme. he doesn't believe in anti-depressants or stuff like xanax or paxil.
said the neck thing can take years to resolve but soft tissue often will not show up in tests.
said diverticulitis can affect the whole body but said really at this point if at all possible to avoid the surgery. he feels i am not emotionally or physically able to recover from such major surgery, even if it is lap.
he still wants me to take zocor.

- I was not referring to a LLMD, but to a LL ND (naturopathic doctor) to help with some of the support methods for healing. -

I'm sure. Too much stress can send me over the edge with a flare up, so I'm sure injury could too.

Any kind of major stress will do it (especially accidents).

Hi Randibear,
Sadly yes, any kind of stress on our bodies can bring back symptoms. I had to have lung surgery and lucky it wasn't cancer and a lung fungus that will also take years to rid.
BUT I had felt myself to be in remission before that surgery and then BAM....wasn't fun.
My LLMD did put me on a low dose of a few antibiotics to see if we could just calm it down. So far so good, but yes, anything that stresses your body can have a bad affect on us.
