Has anyone taken this route? What has been your experience?
I was taken off Rocephin/mepron 3/15 (6mos on) because I was't getting much better and in some ways getting worse. Did Marcon, stool and blood test that showed I am highly toxic. I had been feeling better, but now exhaustion, early waking, pain and fog/word dropping have returned.
So we have been fighting Systemic yeast, gut bacteria and mold, low MSH and hight Beta 1. Antibiotics are no longer to be used due to inability to flush out toxins and the miriad of problems they have caused over 7 years of use.
Right now they are trying to return my GI to normality so I can expel waste. Very difficult. Was using Linzess initially, but I can't afford it and not very effective. I am going to see what Amitiza costs as an alternative (I'm past any over the counter help).
Once that is working then start using Cholestyramine, raise to 200mg Diflucan, two types of probiotics (alternating Threelac and Trueflora bio-cleansing).
Next is the Dr S Protocol: Banderol, Burbur, Sparga and Pinella.

I didn't know that Dr. S did herbs. Anyway I did a lot of his protocol. CSM, BEG spray for Marcons, VIP.
The thing that helped me the most was CSM. Start very slow, do 1/4 to 1/2 of a dose for the first week then slowly increase.
This stuff mobilizes toxins big time, and can cause massive inflammation responses. So take it slow.
Do you also have the genes that you can't detox mold? If you do you have to test your house because if you are living in mold and can't detox it these protocols won't help you.
I didn't think that I had mold in my house but we tested it using EMSL Laboratories ERMI test. We had a lot of mold, we did a massive renovation last year and now the house tests great.

My LLMd is convinced that the mold is comig from our 160+ yr old house, but we can not afford to renovate. She said it not reasonable to expect us to move or renovate due to the financial stress YEARS of care has taken it's toll. When we can we will at least do the bathroom (which has no ventilation.
"CSM", is that the Cholestyramine? She said Dr S****, so I assume she is following latest protocol.

I hate to say it but I don't think your LLMD is being realistic about how sick mold can make a person if they have the bad genes. Did she even test you to see if you had them?
Dr. S's protocol will work for Lyme too, so long as you aren't mold susceptible, even if you are living mold.
Dr. S wouldn't even start someone in treatment for mold illness until they were out of the environment or got their ERMI score down to a 2. Because it just won't work.

I can't remember, the toxins showed up in my blood work, the rest was Marcon and stool testing. I don't know if any of that testing genes, although I do remember her saying that some people have a gentic inability to detox naturally. It was the low MSH and high Beta 1 that I think made her sure of the toxicity issues.
I will have to ask her if an ERMI scorning was done. To be honest, I am a bit confused. Not like that is anything new.

If you google EMSL Laboratories you can order an ERMI test kit for about 160.00.
The send you a device to put on the end of your vacuum cleaner, that is how you collect the dust to be tested for spores. Then you mail it back to them.

CSM might protect you from a moldy house if you were just walking into it and didn't already have the toxins.
I started off w/ 4 scoops a day. 1/2 scoop won't do squat. There's a way to prevent a major herx. But YES - you need to leave the environment.
Once you leave the environment you'll see just how big of an impact it was making.
Indica - you are not supposed to spray bleach on mold. Not sure if that is what you meant by smells like a swimming pool.
EWT - hope you find a way out. That mold has a way of "sucking you in" that's for sure.
