Since I started Plaquenil, I've gained about 15#. Before the flare that lead to diagnosis, I'd been living a low carb lifestyle. Because I lost so much weight with the flare that lead to diagnosis, the doc's were thrilled when I put weight back on & kept it on.

I still try to watch the carbs but not so easy with some of the GF foods (the lower carb versions are made with tree nuts & I'm extremely allergic).


Stilly trying to exercise as well, but not over do it (or I pay for 3 days).
Anyone else deal with this while treating TBDs?

I think it's not the plaquenil but the toxins from die off which block the carbohydrate metabolism in the cells.
