According to Dr. Davis, The wheat problem goes way beyond gluten. There is a particular molecule which was inserted in the wheat seed way back in the 60's which changed the plant such that it now causes a reaction in the brain such that the craving for simple carbs is stimulated. It makes for a food addition and is very dangerous to ones health.
Hence he claims that this causes brain fog, cancer, arthritis and other diseases related to the overconsumption of carbohydrates. I wonder if it makes lyme symptoms worse and may even prevent lyme cures or symptom removal.

- patches,
thanks for the link and the added detail. It's so important that everyone new to lyme - and, well, just everyone who doesn't - gets a chance to see this because most regular doctors neglect to dive into these waters.
More links here, too, espcially the "HIDDEN" places of gluten, even in some lip balms (and anything we put on our lips is really food, as we do ingest it).
And that can sink a ship that we thought was all set.
"gluten-free" options as many restaurants also may not be so, at all, if there is wheat flour "flying around" in the kitchen (so to speak).

- While eliminating wheat and all other foods with gluten (rye, barley, farro, kamut, spelt) is really important to be able to reach a good solid remission (and feel as well as we can before we get there) . . .
. . . there are also many other considerations with weight issues for those with lyme.

- I don't see why it wouldn't since gluten does. That is why many, if not most, LLMDs recommend going GF.

Dr. Davis is great.
I've been following him for over 3 years. Besides Wheat Belly there is the track your plac site.
I'm surprised the food industry hasn't come after him like.

Yes a little better, a clearer head, but I only started six days ago. I will report back in two/three weeks and expect a more accurate assessment then.

The wheat grown in the US today is all dwarf wheat and gmo. Celiac, gluten intolerant or not, wheat should be avoided because it is gmo.
