I've read Infusing for Lymies and have mixed Rocephin and used a pump. I'm now using Clindamycin, which needs to be mixed more dilute so I have ordered 100 ml bags. Where do you guys get iv admin sets? Do you have a favorite on line store and part number?

I purchased everything through Infuserve. They were usually the cheapest overall and they always mix your medicine for free under their sterile hood. This is safer than mixing at home.

Infuserve uses filter needles when they reconstitute your meds so that you don't need a filter on your tubing set.

If you reconstitute the medicine at home, you either need to use the more expensive filter needles or purchase the more expensive filter tubing sets. These will catch any small particles or contaminates before they get to you and cause problems. Very very important!

That is exactly why I use infuserve. Better safe than sorry.

I've used Infuserve for various supplies and premixed meds since I have had picc. I've mixed meds back in the 80s and again last few months, and I feel comfortable doing it now. Difference in cost when insurance pays for drugs thru prescription plan and paying 100% out of pocket is significant.
