i have developed brown spots on two nails. second nail on left hand and second nail on right hand, next to the little finger.

i am absolutely terrified. before mom died, and she had systemic candida really bad, her nails starting turning brown and black before they fell off. her toenails were goshawful..thick and yellowish...really gross.

is there anything i can do about this? i went to a health food store and they said to put listerine on morning and night. that any medication will kill the liver if it's fungus.

any ideas???

Essential oils may help.

or find a doctor smart enough to help you with Diflucan!!!!

PS .. You are WAY healthier than your mother was when candida overtook her.

thanks. i saw what my mother went through and it has scared me half to death ever since.

i mean, c'mon, doctors miss congestive heart failure, mrsa, and systemic candida...geezzzzz.

they're just little spots but you can definitely see them.

somebody else also told me about listerine and vinegar treatment. might try that.

i absolutely can't find a doc that will prescribe diflucan. what in the heck is it with that drug anyway? i get tons of abx but you mention diflucan and they totally get whacked out. it's like i'm asking for the moon or something to even suggest something to a doctor. it's a one way conversation...

just once i'd like to find a doctor who will LISTEN to me instead of saying "there's no lyme in texas" or "never been a case of yeast in my 30 something years, doesn't exist..." crap, crap, crap...

i'd have better luck forking out 1000 bucks and going to the er...

On one of your recent threads, I did post 2 Dr.'s right in your area that work on gut issues-

Non- insurance types, both had websites, they are 'bio-med' type Dr.s.

You could start by giving them a call and asking questions on the phone.

Splinter hemorrhages are longitudinal thin lines, red or brown in color, that occur beneath the nail plate.
While splinter hemorrhages may denote benign problems such as local trauma, psoriasis, or localized fungal infection, they are a classic finding in patients with endocarditis (Figure 9).

I've posted already about changes to my nails, but i have noticed something new lately - brown spots on the side of my fingers opposite the nails......look like splinters but aren't!

if it is fungal, use tea tree oil straight up, no products like foot lotion that have it in it. Put a couple of drops on nail and cuticle at least 2 times a day. It will take a while and you may notice that your current nail will stop growing and another will start up. This is normal. I have used a small bottle of Jason Tea Tree oil which you can find just about any where.

Yep looked at tons. Not lines at all. More like the small fungal nails. But not thick or yellowish. Hope I'm catching it early.

You know me. Bought the f ea tree. Listerine and vinegar and thepharmacist gave me a bottle of antifungal stuff.

I'm loaded for bear.......
