We have a family friend who her sister been sick for so long. She was diagnosed with ALS, and the doctors told her that she doesn't have that long and that she'll die and they cant do anything for her. They had no idea what was causing her symptoms and she been ill for a while. Well, she lives in Australia. My mom was telling her friend about my symptoms and her friend was like oh wow she reminds me so much of my sister.
I told her about lyme disease and tried to help them find a doctor in Australia. Well, she called me today and told me that her sister tested positive for lyme disease, and they are going to start her on the right tract now.
That was the highlight of my day! I am glad now after so long she found out what was wrong.
Now the bad, I been on IV treatment for almost a month (after this week it will be a month). The last week I do IV flagyl 1000 mg a day. This is my second day of flagyl.
I haven't been feeling different at all with the treatment. I didn't herx and not feeling any better.
I at least expected to herx or maybe the constant head movements to get better, but nothing.
I am not too sure if maybe it's too soon to tell, but at least I expected something since I haven't treated in so long.
I just feel the same as I did before starting treatment, horrible head pressure, pain.. and basically in bed.

Great news for your family's friend sister! That is nice to know it is something that can be treated. Much better than "not that long to live!"
When do you see your LLMD again? It can get frustrating waiting for meds to show a difference.
Hopefully others will chime in with their words of wisdom. Hang in there, it takes time, bit it does get better!

That's the silver lining for us, that we can help rescue others - this is ongoing for me.
This weekend, someone banged into me, and I went down on the floor, and they didn't understand what was going on, so I explained it to them, and turns out they were able to recognize that a family member probably had this, so this incident rescued someone!

Yes, stay the course. If we have learned anything from our lyme journeys,It is the slow, plodding hare that wins the race. It is never quick enough or soon enough for any of us when we go on treatment. We are praying for you luvema to get well quickly.

luvema, I have read that for some it may take as long as 4 or 5 months on IV meds to improve. I'm glad you are on them and I look forward to reading your posts to say you are feeling better!
So happy you were able to help that person in Australia!
