Need some guidance......I take Rifampin 300 mg at 6:30 am then Azithromcyin 250 mg at 8:30 am. I need to take Tindamax 500 mg, but I am starting off with 1/2 of the tablet.

Would like to know from others who are on Rifampin and Azithromycin when do you take Tindamax - at the same time or spaced out an hour apart?

A little nervous about Tindy. :-(

When I took it, it was at the same time as my other abx.

My LLMD had me take it 2 days a week only. It was a breeze for me - compared with flagyl.

Your experience may be different.

Always took all abx together unless LLMD said otherwise.

I am not on the same abx as you, but I wanted to comment when I saw that Tindi made you nervous. I pulse one week on one week off with the Tindi. I take twice daily Biaxin and Mino. Honestly, I look forward to the week that I am on the Tindi. After about three days in my brain feels a bit more clear, I can do crosswords (word comprehension) and I feel like I have these brief moments where my energy level (brain-wise) is back to what it was a few years ago. But on the downside, the week I take the Tindi the knuckles in my hands and toes swell a bit more, and my fatigue in the afternoons and evenings is more intense, and I have a bit of insomnia because of increased night sweats. But honestly, those brief moments where my brain feels alert and clear are TOTALLY worth it.

Take same meds as you at same times. I am switching to 2 weeks of tind/flagyl on and 2 weeks off. Had previously been doing tindamax 2 days a week for 3 years.

Do you take abx again in the PM?

Things are never dull. After 3 fighting Lyme, 2 are in remission. Youngest is still sick, age 22. He has new diagnosed Chiari Malformation and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

There is no reason I am aware of not to take them together.

Thank you for your response. I will start on Monday and let you know how it goes.

Ktkdommer, yes in the evening I take 150 mg of Rifampin - couldn't tolerate the full 600 mg daily - and 250 mg of Azithromycin.
