Anyone taking compounded Nystatin? Oh my...I switched from the pill form to compounded liquid two days ago and feel really sick today.
Since it does not get systemic could it really cause a full body type herx/flu-like symptoms/headache? My LLMD did warn me that it is very strong but geez.....I feel flat out flu like.

It works wonders for me (much better than the pills and also no herx), but I use powdered (compounded) form. I don't know what the difference between the liquid and the powdered is. The liquid may be sweeter (dunno).

Thanks catgirl. The liquid I have does not have any sweetener in it. Tastes very very bitter.
Don't know why it would make me feel so bad - yeah I have a yeast issue but still. Worried cuz I was on the trails yesterday....always paranoid about another tick bite but hoping it is just the compounded Nystatin.

I took compounded liquid for a couple years no problem. Perhaps it is the dosage, not the form, that is causing the issue? It is much higher dose than the pills you were taking? Maybe upping dosage more slowly would've been better?

- What is the liquid? It may not have sweetener but I'm curious as to what exactly it is.
Powder, itself, works just fine mixed with water right before you take it. That way, you don't have to deal with whatever that liquid preparation is. Often, it's not really a good food source but a synthetic mixture of some kind.
Be sure to see your product detail for the exact composition of that.
Taking it with more water may be of help, or smaller doses divided more often. -

Thanks....Can't find the paperwork. Comes from Infuserve. Do not know what the suspension is.
I'm not suppose to take bit with water - at least I don't think so. What did my hubby do with the paperwork. Scream.......
