Hi. Just started Nystatin yesterday and would like to know what can it be taken with, abx, probiotics, milk thistle, etc?

Do not take it with probiotics. My understanding is that you can take it with abx.s without a problem. Not sure about the herbs though.

I dunno, but I have horrible systen=mic yeast right now and feel awful, need it to kick in the right way. Thanks.

You NEED to take it with food. I have nearly thrown up when I've taken it with no food. It happened several times and took me awhile to figure out why I was so nauseated.
Nystatin is more of a preventative. If you have a bad case of candida, you will need some Diflucan.

Really,LLMD thinks that my allergy, eye, rash, burning in nose, throat, etc. is from yeast. Not going to help, huh? Yikes.

Nystatin is great for preventing what you're eating from feeding yeast. That doesn't mean we can eat sweets though. Lymetoo is right, take it with food.
I was allergic every season to grasses, molds (hayfever) etc. I had itchy eyes, sinus issues, and more. These turned out to be parasites. I was shocked they went away with several rounds of parasite meds and herbs. I can't explain the connection, other than it's parasites. Even what I thought were UTIs turned out to be parasites. The tests for parasites are pitifully inaccurate though.
Since it was stated at the last ILADS conference that parasites are the number one co infection, I would jump in and treat if I were you. Treatment is an ongoing thing (just like treating our pets).

Nystatin only stays and works in the gastro tract - that is my understanding.
I take both Nystatin and Diflucan - Diflucan is for systemic infection and will kill yeast where ever you have it. Very strong and very long half life so you can take it every second or thired day.
I agree about the yeast/parasite connection. I now never treat one without treating the other and am currently hitting both pretty hard.
How about the herbal route? GSE, Oil of Oregano, Olive Leaf Extract, Pau D Arco, ART to name a few. Many herbal products out there to choose from and most herbs for parasites also treat yeast.

Humaworm, parastroy, Hanna Kroeger (this one is mild for me). Also salt/c. I did Dr. K's protocol for parasite meds too: ivermectsin, pyrantel pamoate, albenza, alinia. Check out THE PARASITE WARRIORS THREAD. Lots of great info there.
