Hi everybody,

I became symptomatic in October, and I saw my first LLMD on the 16th of December. I tested positive for Bartonella and the LLMD assumes I also have Lyme.

I've been taking 300mg/day of doxy for almost two weeks now, and I feel like I'm getting worse. In that time, particularly in the second week, my symptoms have gradually intensified. Is this a herx reaction?

EDIT: My main symptoms have been lightheadedness, head pressure, and a ringing in my ears. All of these seem to have intensified in the last week.

Just to be safe, I've made an appointment with Dr. R in NYC to get a second opinion, because the LLMD that I'm seeing has only prescribed doxy and nothing else, and from everything that I've read, that's not effective against Lyme and Bartonella.

I'd appreciate any insight and opinions. Happy holidays!

Yes, you are herxing. And be forewarned: it could last a good while.

and at the 3-5 wk mark, you will notice it even more .. hang in there!!!

At least you are on your way!

OK, thanks for your feedback.

I guess it's hard to tell because I think my symptoms have generally been getting worse since they started, but it does feels like there's been a sharp increase in the severity of the symptoms over the last week.

I've also improved my diet drastically and I'm going to start taking colloidal silver to supplement my treatment.

My follow-up with the first LLMD is in two weeks. Hopefully I'll have a better idea of where I'm at then.

Thanks again!
