I have been slowly gaining weight despite what I eat, so I joined a group on yahoo called the circadian t3 method. It is a method of dosing t3 only (a thyroid hormone) throughout the day to get your body to convert t3 to t4 I believe. Some people have this problem and cannot convert and get a build up of reverse t3 on a lab test, like I had. There could be a number of different reasons for this, surprisingly a lot of people with this problem also have chronic Lyme from reading posts from this group. To correct this you can use t3 hormone also called cytomel in the u.s. or you may have low iron, adrenal problems, or low zinc or selenium that is causing the problem. Anyways, just wAted to know if anyone has been using this method who has Lyme here and if it has worked for them???

Makes a lot of sense. Where was your t3 before you started dosing? I am on 60 mg of Armour twice a day and am still low by my last blood test. Also low on testosterone and have started adding that back about 5 days a week.

- Cytomel can be nearly deadly, when used alone. It nearly killed me years ago and I had no clue that's was the culprit. It made my life miserable for a very long time before I learned of its dangers.
Be very careful with that. When it wears off, it can drop you like a rock, feeling just horrible, and beyond.
There is now a timed released kind but I'm not sure that removes all the risk.
You might explore NATURE-THROID, a blend of T3 & T4.
For anyone with lyme, just T3 can be even more dangerous. Be certain your LLMD is guiding treatment and that adrenal support is the cornerstone. -
