Often times you'll read about an herb/mushroom that lowers blood sugar (being beneficial for some people).
But those of us with a tendency towards hypoglycemia... would we be advised to take these herbs/mushrooms WITH food to avoid the potential blood sugar crash?

Eating a protein snack every 2 hours between meals will help blood sugar levels stay stable.
Be careful with herbs that lower blood sugar. But some only lower high blood sugar and won't make normal or low blood sugar lower...
Look for herbs that are adaptogens...they will correct abnormalities without causing others.

- Razzle's suggestion of adaptogens is a good one.
Yes, with food is usually best for most herbs & vitamins/minerals, anyway.
Herbs in combination formulas often provide better balance than (some) single herbs. Best guided by a LL ND, if at all possible. -

- Articles and books here can answer many of questions about herbs, too:
(Be aware that those in some categories can have zero or various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees . . . . -

I have hypoglycemia and at first I went very slowly on herbs that can lower blood sugar.
I am now increasing the dosage slowly and I seem to be okay.
Just be sure to eat protein every two or three hours.
