I've used Chiggerex for relief from itching for many itchy things and it works for me and others I've recommended it to.
You may find it in some older style pharmacies, few here carry it, but you can find it online.
Chiggerex Medicated Ointment 1.75oz by Chiggerex (this size for under $4.00)
Advertised as: For Chigger, Tick, and all bug bites. Fast, Soothing Relief with Aloe vera plus chamomile. Active Ingredient Benzocaine 5.0% For External Use Only Warning, Avoid contact with the eyes.
I've tried a LOT of anti-itch stuff and this works 2nd best of all I've tried. Email me if you'd like more info.

Solarcaine.
Or my most recent favorite-thieve's oil diluted with grapeseed oil. I use this religiously on itchy spots and for my itchy ear.

Check out the new allegra anti-itch cream. It's OTC. I would also take an oral anti-histamine (benadryl or zyrtec or allegra are best for itching, claritin is not strong enough).
If it was caused by certain bug bites, OTC oatmeal baths can help dry up the spots and calm the itching too. Just don't make the bath water too hot as heat will flare the itching and counteract the action of the product purchased.
