i have been doing cowden for about a month or so now, but i think i'm having some problems.
my stomach is really hurting. it even hurts at night. goes through to my shoulder blades in back.
when i don't take cowden it doesn't hurt.
has anybody had problems with tinctures or cowden and stomach pain?? i hate to say it, but this may be causing me problems.

I have a sensitive stomach and I've been tolerating the full cowden protocol without difficulty. I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling with it. Guess that shows how different we all can react.

I too have lots of stomach problems, but Cowden has so far not appeared to make them worse. I do get aches there, but nothing major.
I did at first worry about the alcohol in the tinctures because I have candida and a very fermenting tum, but when the candida gets a little worse, I have come to the conclusion that it may be the effect of metal pulling from the zeolite HP.
You could ask Dr C via Facebook or at least ring Nutramedix and get them to ask. Hope you get relief soon.

If you still have your gallbladder, that could be gallbladder pain... Some herbs are known to stimulate the gallbladder, which can cause pain if one has gallstones or other gallbladder/bile duct issues.
Could also be an allergy to one of the herbs or other ingredients in the tinctures.
I myself get stomach pain if I try to take alcohol-based tinctures of anything...alcohol and my body are incompatible...

I would eliminate them one by one and see which herb is causing the pain. It might only be one of them and you might be able to use something else to substitute...my practitioner uses a modified cowden protocol with only samento/cumanda/burbur and has much success. She also uses Agrisept-L for babesia.

DH and I have found that if we ramp up too quickly with the tinctures that we get varying degrees of stomach pain - sometimes sharp pain, other times ulcer-like pain.
When we slowly ramp up, there has been no pain and we were able to work up to the therapeutic dose.
