A friend showed me multiple bull's eye rashes on her feet yesterday - she'd spent an afternoon in a grassy yard in Western Mass and found them about a 36 hours later - i never had a rash so couldn't advise whether they were Lyme rashes as she said they itched like crazy when they appeared....for those of you who had the rash, did it itch?

My initial EM rash did not itch.

My subsequent rashes shaped like EM (started when I started treatment) do.

I think it depends on individuals body responses to bug bites, infection etc.

Has she taken pictures?

She should take pics for her records and also see a LL doc.

My first LLMD told me that a rash from the first bite usually didn't itch, but subsequent bites did as the body makes antibodies to the tick's saliva causing the itchiness.

Just an anecdotal story - like Keebler mentioned, it is probably a toss up whether it itches or not - I definitely would not use itchiness as a means to rule out a lyme EM rash.
