Hello. I have been unsure for years if I have Lyme or not, antibody blood tests show usually nothing and there are no better tests available here where I live. So I would like to do a "herx test" with some natural (herbal) supplement to see what happens. Any suggestions what supplement might be good for this? MMS? Vit C/salt? Thanks a lot.

- I have used various herbs for over 25 years.
I do not believe this kind of "herx test" would be an accurate way to determine the presence of lyme. Herbs can have so many actions that it just can't be accurate that way, for reasons too various and too complex for my energy level to explain but, just one: if candida is present (highly likely), candida "die off" can be misinterpreted as a herx.
And, with many herbs, there may be some action that has a person just not feeling great if any kind of infection is being "challenged", etc.
Go by your history, symptoms, physical presentation (how you and all your body parts / functions get on in life).
WHY you need an ILADS "educated" or "minded" Lyme Literate doctor (whether MD or ND, or both) - starting with assessment / evaluation.
Medical "models" explained here, as to differences in the ISDA & ILADS models of assessment & treatment - and exactly why it is so very important to know the differences.
There are some ILADS doctors in various parts of the world. -

- Now, if you don't have access to any kind of LL doctor or testing, my suggestion is to start a particular herbal protocol and see if you feel better (after an initial adjustment period).
Obviously, something is wrong. Whatever that may be could be helped with some of the better herbs that can cover many bases..
If gravitating toward herbs, if you have a LL naturopathic doctor (or similar) near to you, I suggest seeing them for a good diagnostic assessment.
Still, lyme treatment, treatment for ANY tick-borne or chronic stealth infection is a committed proposition. Treatment would be for years, likely. So, it's best to get the very best professional guidance possible.
Back with LL ND links set and two top protocol links. -

- Pulling out from that set, IMO, the top three adjunct avenues that I would consider were I to be you - until you can get in to see a LLMD or LL ND.

- Magnesium deficiency can cause all kinds of symptoms. Consider this, too, separately and also as part of the bigger picture if lyme or other infection in involved.

Hi, I don't know if a herx test would work.
MMS is controversial. Make sure you read up on it from a bunch of different sources and go on a number of forums before starting it.
I had an EM rash, confirmed by a dermo, but not treated because, "we don't have lyme in BC". And many years later, found another tick on me, had a host of symptoms. Had positive IgM Western Blot.
I haven't had a herx yet.
The links about from Keebler are very good, have some good info.
Medical docs still don't treat lyme in BC. It is very controversial here.
I see an LLND. He's saved my life. In BC, LLND's can prescribe antibiotics. So I have an antibiotic and herbals and supplements.
I think ART practiononers may be helpful in your circumstance.
Igenex ships to anywhere in the world and give a good explanation on western blot results.
Buhner is a good place to start. His books are on Amazon.
If your negative lyme test was an ELISA-don't put a lot of faith in it as being "true".
My ELISA was negative.
Also, hearing some good results with photon therapy, but you would need to find someone to teach you how to use it safely.
Anyways, best of luck. This is a great forum. Most folks on here really research before posting anything, so it is a fairly "safe" place to learn about lyme and co.
