Anybody know where to get these Lipostabil IV treatments? My doc in SanFran advised me to get them, but said I must get the brand name from Europe or no good (no compounded PTC in plastic bags) [confused] I live in Morto Bay but can probably travel. Thanks,

Sam

Was this your LLMD? If not, be certain your LLMD knows well in advance. Weight gain is very common with lyme for many reasons yet when under control, it often improves dramatically.

Adrenal support is also essential as the adrenal dysfunction caused by lyme can cause weight gain (even with the best health habits).

As this Rx is so hard to locate, it may be that Allicin could be more effective. Safer and less expensive. Berberine also has some good effects against adipose tissue and fatty blood vessels.

A good LL ND would be able to suggest many other ways to approach the adipose tissue issue, whether for cosmetic reasons or to dissolve any deposits in blood vessels. If to treat a tendency toward fatty embolisms, flying could be dangerous until that is resolved.

Something to consider:

Tissue-toxic effects of phosphatidylcholine/deoxycholate after subcutaneous injection for fat dissolution in rats and a human volunteer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allicin

Allicin

. . . Several animal studies published between 1995 and 2005 indicate that allicin may reduce atherosclerosis and fat deposition, normalize the lipoprotein . . . .

The "How to Find an ILADS educated LL ND (naturopathic doctor)" links set is also here - they would know of many other ways to address the issue.

Thanks for the advice, Keebler, but I would prefer not to go into all the medical detail about "why" we've chosen the Lipostabil IV. At this point I just need to find out "where" to get these treatments. Do you know of any places/doctors where I could get the treatment?

Sam

I searched and found it very hard to figure out from a regular Google search. You might try Google ADVANCED SEARCH and get a better set of hits than I found.

You might call the manufacturer directly.

Would the doctor you spoke to about it have any idea?

For whatever reason you are wanting it, if there is some kind of educational organization for that condition, you might contact them.

I would not get these unless you are 100% sure that you do NOT have the Fry bug (protomyx).

This treatment is just what they love.....fat! It doesn't matter whether it is good fat or bad, this will feed them.

I am speaking from experience.
