WELL,
the 24 hour eeg is over, and now it will be a couple of days.
I was awake the whole night, and saw my son rousing frequently.
The longest he remained uniterupted was 1.5 hours. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to his sleep issues except that he holds sleep less as the night progresses. Least in the morning.
I think we have more REM in the morning.
Anyone a sleep expert?
What got me was when the tech came in who had been watching him via video all night and said upon my prompting " when he finally got to sleep he slept like a lamb" .
I said looks must be deceiving then, and she said "yes, but don't say I told you so".
I feel like I'm in a Hitchcock movie and people are trying to make me crazy. Either that or she was half asleep and was not paying much attention to his monitors, but others.
The doctor was primarily looking for seizures and I said I want to know about sleep patterns. She didn't seem to understand. My husband then rephrased and asked if she would be able to see a normal sleep pattern throughout the night. She said yes but it seemed distant.
Either way, I know what I saw.
Any thoughts welcome.
THanks

You are in a Hitchcock movie. Those people think they know everything (welcome to western medicine). I remember hearing someone watching me in the hospital say: "She's asleep now." Obviously, I wasn't.
I hope something positive comes out of this for your son. Hang in there!
