It will make you herx, I would imagine. No telling what it will do to your sensitive gut.
Have you tried Sovereign Silver to keep the sinus infections at bay? I use their nasal spray at first sign of infection.
I had sinus surgery in 2008 and don't want to do that again. I had only one side done, and I haven't had an infection since.
Of course, being dairy free helps too!!

- If you are not taking anything to address cyst form, doxycycline can push lyme into the cyst form (even deeper / chronic).
Be sure to cover that base. -

What happened the last time you took doxy? Did you have intestinal problems?
I can think of several things to treat the inflammation and pressure of sinus infection. Systemic enzymes, like Serrapeptase Far-infrared light Pulsed electromagnetic energy
Systemic enzymes will reduce fibrin in the bloodstream and this will thin mucous in the sinuses and the lungs. The mucous drains from the sinuses, and the infection clears. This has been verified with a study. (Google for Serrapeptase sinus.)
Regarding the far-infrared light, it improves circulation and reduces inflammation and swelling. When I used the SOTA LightWorks on my face to heal inflamed pimples, I noticed that the sinus under the skin I was treating opened up. You need to use the 660 wavelength, which penetrates up to five inches.
I have not used pulsed electromagnetic energy on my sinuses, but that should work too, as it improves circulation and reduces inflammation and swelling.
Actually, I have not had sinus problems for several years now, since I've been taking Wobenzym daily. I used to catch colds that progressed into sinus infections and bronchitis several times a year.
Another "low tech" first aid measure would be to do hot compresses on your face, over the painful sinuses. The warmth will relax the blood vessels, improving the blood circulation to the inflamed area and help it to heal faster. And drink plenty of fluids to thin the mucous.
. p.s. I don't think it's a coincidence that so many people with Lyme symptoms also have sinus problems. The long term Lyme infection provokes the body into increasing the amount of fibrin in the blood, and this increases the viscosity (thickness) of the mucous.
