Can someone critique my treatment right now and tell me if perhaps I should move on to a different doctor? I have not been getting better for some time now and want to know if it's because of my treatment. I have been on ceftin, azithromycin, plaquenil, I take all of those twice a day. Then I take lariam once a week. I am wondering if I should be taking this drug in particular more often. I have a feeling that it is babesia that is making and keeping me sick more than Lyme because my symptoms are brain fog, memory issues, muscle pain, sleeping a lot, and chronic fatigue. Also, is there anything that I should be tested for other than what I've been tested for that might warrant a different treatment than I'm on now? I have been tested for erluchia, bartonella. But I have not been tested for rocky mountain spotted fever or mycoplasma and I'm not sure if this really matters though if those illnesses requiems the same treatment which is abx? I have been sick for probably 15 yrs, and the last 3 yrs in treatment. I'm just frustrated because I don't seem to be getting much better.

Thanks, lax mom.. I struggled thru the reading, THEN saw your post. I need to live and learn!

katrina .. have you been with the same Dr all of these years?

Have you been good about your diet and about combating the yeast? Not eating healthy and not taking care of possible yeast will hold you back also.

Yeast is a beast and could be your main issue.

The antibiotic combo looks good. Are you still herxing and making progress? Or have you reached a plateau? Sometimes progress is extremely slow and we only see it when we look back after a few months.

You could ask your doctor for different babesia treatment like malarone if you feel like the larium is no longer effective.

Also talk with them about testing for the coinfections that you are concerned about. Then you won't have to worry about that any longer.

Communication can be difficult but better than starting over with a new doctor.

I've been through 3 LLMDs (all ILADS trained). I'm now with a Doctor of Chinese Medicine who's also a PA for an LLMD and can prescribe drugs if need be.

Each one treated differently depending on their experience and background.

When one didn't work anymore, I just moved on to the next.

It was the best thing I did for my health.

There's nothing wrong with getting a second, third, fourth or fifth opinion.

One doc who came highly recommended just didn't work for me. Her protocol just didn't help.

You can always see another doc and then go back to the original if you don't like the new person.

Just bring a copy of your labwork if you decide to see someone new.

Good luck.
