Hi, my LLMD wants me to try Bicillin IM shots weekly as my next step. (I did well on Claforan shots but this is currently not available.) So I go to my local doc and talk him into this, but now they are telling me the Bicillin isn't available??

We were told to look for Bicillin LA 2.4 million (I don't know how many ml?) but this dosage isn't available. Apparently 1.2 million dosage is available but this isn't what the LLMD requested.

My local pharmacist called around and the local doc's office called around and they can't find it. I don't know what to do...will call the LLMD tomorrow (in another state).

Anybody have any experience with this? Or encouragement? I am so frustrated. Thnx.

You could get a shot in each bottom cheek (to get the 2.4 dose)
instead of just 1 shot on 1 side for your dose-

I had to do that for a box, wasn't great, but doable until the next box where they got the 1 shot in 2.4 dose.

You may want to call around pharmacies yourself to see what's up, but if you just want to get started, you could take the 2 shots at a time instead of 1.

Thanks, good suggestion--I'll talk to the LLMD's office about doing 2 shots, that would be fine with me.

As far as me calling around, that seems too difficult for me now, just insurmountable. If I weren't so sick, that would be the kind of problem-solving I'd cheerfully do, sigh.
