I'm on my third shot of bicillin. How's severe were your herxes? Joint pain, fluish, always psych. Psych med adjustment also. Menopausal. Seems hyponatremia salt problem almost seems to almost have disappeared ? Ondamed over 100 times, maybe salt fixed itself with ondamed. Can't get head right.

To be honest, I know that Bicillin was one of the hardest meds I had. Granted, everyone has different strains and no two people have the exact same reactions.

I had been through 16 months of IV with a LOT of ups and downs, but the Bicillin kicked my butt. I don't recall so many of the details since I just remember totally crashing.

I thought I was getting better but then wham, this med got me good with herxing. BUT with that said, it may have knocked me silly, but it sure had a punch that was certainly a huge part of my recovery. It is it really having your herx hard, I would seriously stick with it since it seems to be reaching something strong. Good luck.

I really didn't seem to herx on it. Initially it seemed to help and I actually looked forward to my next one knowing how good I would feel, but then it stopped working.

I never really herxed on bicillin, just showed improvement, one of the few things that helped without herx.

Ellen101,

A similar thing happened to me. At first bicillin-LA was excellent. I was able to work again. My brain improved substantially. I felt bicillin was almost as good as rocephin. Then an errant shot almost did me in (mistakenly it went into the vein) and my doctor took me off it.

Sometime later I went on bicillin again. At first the shots worked, but then I got a batch that not only did not work, but seemed to make me feel worse (this also happened with a generic ceftriaxone).

I felt something was not right in both those circumstances as the effect was readily noticeable between good patches that I still had in reserve and the batches which were bad. In other words, I could give myself a shot of bacillin-LA from a batch I knew was good and do much better. But then a shot from the bad batch made me feel worse (these were not herxes). Unfortunately I ran out of my good batches and then only got the bad batches.

Has this happened to any one else? Any thoughts?

Was this actual Bicillin LA from King Pharmaceuticals, or one of the generic powdered/diluent forms from out of the country?

I've been on both, and I've wondered similar thoughts as you based on effectiveness (including a certain source that sells supposedly genuine Bicillin LA here in the USA)

PM me with details if you don't want to post.

k84,

Looking forward to discussing subject with you. I have never initiated a pm before, but hopefully I'll figure it out.

Working on something right now, sorry to delay. If I can't answer tomorrow, I will have to wait to Sunday.

Thank you for patience.
