Well, I am going to go to the ER, as terrified as I am.
My H suggested I go by myself, boy was I mad.

I must look on the outside like I have it together.
With 3 kids and no real help, it's hard,
but will be harder if I croak, right?

Sorry.
Home UTI says positive white blood cells in urine,
no nitrates = infection, but probably not bladder infection.

I NEVER run fevers- so a 2 degree higher fever feels like 10-
I have a low grade fever today, about 100. Normal for me is 97.

I had 2 'stomach' attacks this week- text book gall bladder,
but ultra sound 1 1/2 years ago said gall blad. and liver
looked 'normal.'

Distended, bloated stomach. Not eating much, and I am very thin.

So. I will ask to culture my urine, and CT scan on abdomen area.
Anything I'm missing?
I'm scared. I am afraid

1.) they will tell me I need surgery, and
2.) no more antibiotics will work on me since I've had so many.

doing okay!

First they would have to find out what's wrong before they ever mentioned surgery.

I wonder if you have a UTI? For me, I get positive white blood cells but never any nitrates, even though nitrates are infection-specific.

Do you have any other symptoms?

You are going to be ok.

Thank you- I'm going in about an hour from now. My husband is taking me, my 16 yr. old will babysit younger kids.

I do have other symptoms- and it's not clearing w/ Cipro (10 days) or Bactrim which I stopped yesterday.

I paid for an online Dr. question: he said it's a UTI, recommended Levaquin,

and get a CT scan for gallbladder since the ultrasounds miss gallstones, could have a blockage.

A CT will also rule out kidney stones.

Did you try D-mannose along with the abx? Sorry you are feeling badly. Thinking about you.

Thank you---

Back, and here is what I learned:
4 vials of blood (I couldn't look, H told me)
All came back fine/ normal (yea)

Urine: no white blood cells, no infection, nada.
Gallbladder and kidneys: perfectly healthy and fine.
I didn't register a fever there.

Moderate constipation- yes, they see that.
Possible interstitial cystitis, but they can't diagnose it there.
They gave me a script for Miralax.

My H said this is when I became slightly argumentative, but took the script as it will save me $20 off the shelf.

Takeaway: It's not my gallbladder.
I need to change my diet (lay off GF bread products, more veggies)

And I am going to get a colonoscopy, I've never had one.
Real bummer on the UTI symptoms.

Yes, thank you I have been taking the D-mannose, 3 caps 2-3 times a day....

Sounds like you got some really good news! No UTI, normal kidneys/gallbladder.

Do you have to go to a Urologist for the possible IV diagnosis?

The colonoscopy is a piece of cake.

Btw, I want your ER in my town. That was a quick ER visit [Wink]

(Mine is literally so bad, that last week, when I had a kidney stone, I had to call 911 FROM THE ER so an ambulance could take me to another hospital because they stuck me in the waiting room in torture!)

Thanks Lax!

That's terrible about your ER, yikes! Saw you aren't feeling well, sending good thoughts---

On the IV- you can imagine w/ my medical procedure anxiety how willing I am to have a biopsy of my bladder done-
to then be told:

You have bladder inflammation, not much we can do.
I've looked at IV info. *sigh* looks like another condition of personal trial and error.

I should have had a colonoscopy a long time ago-
my brother tonight on the phone after ER finally talked me into it.

Glad you are "mostly" OK!!

If you have bloating you may be reacting to grains in general (as you suspect) or it could be candida/yeast which breads would aggravate.

I used to get severe gut pain (even in the GB area after my GB was already taken out) from candida.

My UTIs turned out to be parasites. I had to stop the abx for a while because they destroyed the good stuff and aggravated the bugs.

I occasionally get some recurring symptoms, but my LLMD believes it is and has always been parasites (so do I). Several people here thought it was IC (it wasn't). Parasite treatment is an ongoing thing for me. Distention and bloating are some of my symptoms too. Lymetoo is right (yeast)--it follows the bugs. I hope you feel better soon!

Glad you're home now surprise.

I'm glad it's not your gallbladder either.

I am sorry you're having ongoing bladder issues [Frown]

I have IC and it often mimics a UTI- for me anyway....

Thank you again, I feel much calmer today, and grateful.

I have decided to do Paelo diet, and I have a good feeling about it, did a major grocery shop, AND,

am going to cook! Started today. Prepared for yeast die off.
My gut needs some serious help.
Yes on yeast, yes on parasites,

Yes to better gut health. Feeling positive, albeit tired.
Also started a pill of slippery elm, marshmallow (herb),

aloe vera, deglyrrhizinated licorice.

Awesome job Surprise!

Good for you for going paleo [Smile]

And good choice on the supplement-I hear marshmallow is good to soothe the bladder.

My wife had a UTI. I think this & other symptoms that she exhibited & that went away are suggestive to Lyme.

It turned out to be resistant E. Coli. Many women are getting this nowadays & it was on the news. Do not handle raw chicken with your bare hands. My wife handled chicken with her hands & I told her not too. Both times she did this, she got a UTI within a week.

Interestingly enough her gyno took samples of the E. Coli & cultured them. They hit them with various ABX in a dish to find out which ABX would be most effective. As a result she overcame the infection twice.

I can't believe they just can't do that with Lyme & Co. It seemed too simple & what you think should be done.

Thank you for asking. The bladder issues have 90% cleared up, and removing ALL grains

has been hard at times- massive fatigue washes over me.
My gut is very inflamed. I took liquid magnesium citrate

after ER - worked, but very swollen and bloated.
I'm determined to remain 100% grain free,

and reading the book Paleo Solution-
I think I have decades of yeast.
Thanks again--- I'm doing better!!
