Nourish your pancreas, these may help with inflammation.

Blueberries and Cherries
Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower
Garlic, onions

Q.: What specifically should they eat? Avoid?

A.: Patients with pancreatitis should avoid high fat foods. This includes fried foods, most desserts, whole milk dairy products, fatty cuts of meats, nuts/seeds, and avocado. Also, they should limit fats like butter, salad dressings, sour cream, and mayonnaise, and foods with added sugar, like desserts and sweetened beverages. Alcoholic beverages should also be avoided.

Patients can include grains, fruits and vegetables, lean meats (like fish, skinless poultry, eggs), beans, and low fat dairy products in their diet.

Glad Steve hopped in with some good suggestions. I'm no expert in anything and probably not even moderately enlightened about the pancreas. So hope others will voice their ideas here, too.

As the pancreas can be affected by tick-borne disease -- and it is connected to glucose stability, though, be sure you are in touch with your LLMD about this. Not sure if there is a specific issue going on or not but the specifics are best approached with your LL doctor.

The pancreas also "deals with" hormones so it's important to avoid endocrine disruptors like typical cleaning products, scented products and personal care products that contain petroleum.

Also never eat or drink from plastic, no matter how hard it is. Plastics leech out endocrine-toxic substances.

Just remembered that both you and your son use the sauna a club (or such). So, you obviously need to take water. Be sure to get the harder type plastic that is BPA-free (but also has considered other elements and is the "cleanest" product you can find.

And be sure to set it just outside of the sauna so it does not get hot. Plastics leech out more stuff when they get warm. And even if some are BPA-free, we don't know about all the other issues with even the best plastic but, in limited use where you absolutely must have water, it has to be in some kind of vessel.

I use a stainless steel water bottle so am not up on the "safer" kinds of plastic bottle.

Klean Kanteen is one brand of stainless steel water bottles (though anyone with a nickel allergy would do best to avoid stainless).

There are glass water bottles with cut silicone cut out protectors, too. I suggest those but they can be heavy.

thanks Keebler.

My son does actually have a stainless steel water bottle too.

I need to get a new one though.

Trying the very best to stay away from plastics.

ugh

It's hard, though, eh?

If plastic baggies are required for some lunch foods, try to wrap first in a kitchen parchment paper before putting into the baggie.
