I went to my Lyme appt. this week and the dr. wants me to be on flagyll, ceftin, doxy and mepron. What are your thoughts.
I have been dealing with Lyme treatment for one year now and am better but have a long ways to go.
He also ordered a mold test $699 and a Nutreval test and a brain function test. Both of those are $2000 each. I do have insurance but am not sure how much they will pay for.
What are your opinions on taking these tests?
Thank you much.

I take ceftin and doxy. It's been a really good combo for me. I haven't taken the others.
I don't know those tests, but me first thought is those are expensive.
I think it depends on how important the information will be.
My question to your doctor is if your treatment plan would change drastically or minutely according to the test results.
Even with test results, people respond differently to treatments.
It might be worth it try some of the treatments to see how you respond first if they aren't very expensive and don't have side effects.
Information is always good. Maybe just do one at a time.

What is a Nutreval test? I would first find out what insurance will pay on the 3 tests, because I don't see how they will affect your treatment. (as Judie mentioned)
