I was wondering if a patient with Lyme who goes four years untreated has any hope of ever getting better?

Thank you.

Yes, absolutely you can get better. It's not always easy, but it can and has gotten better for me, and my daughter.

Are you seeing a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor?

low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.

Not seeing a llmd yet, but it is definitely going to happen soon. I just went through extensive infectious disease testing, the thing is my ELISA is positive but my WB is negative. The ID doctor redid some of the tests and I am waiting for the results. I was not even tested for Lyme until this year. My symptoms began in 2010 and my doctor concluded that I had autonomic dysfunction and that was that. I always thought there was a cause and this just makes so much sense. I had so many symptoms, nausea, lightheadedness, blood pressure so low I needed meds to raise it, bradycardia, these horrible, Painful headaches that started at the base of my skull and just knocked me out with pain, fatigue, facial numbness, I was terrified, it was like nothing I had ever experienced before and I seriously thought I was going to die. My doctor was useless, said I had POTs and a neck spasm and wanted nothing more to do with me. I have new doctors now but I have yet to find someone with any sense of urgency to find the cause and try to stop this.
I still go through every single day with crazy symptoms that would scare the crap out of any normal person and the thought of somehow ever getting better seems unreal to me, like a fantasy. My kids were 2 and 3 when this happened, I was unstoppable, so energetic, so full of life, so into being a great mom, I want them to know me like that again, I doubt they even remember how much fun I was. Now I push myself very hard to do as much as I can but it is really difficult, I start a full time job next week and I am terrified.

I had undiagnosed lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella for at least 10 years before I was finally diagnosed and started treatment.

I got rid of all of these diseases by seeing a doctor who followed the Burrascano Guidelines. (This document is posted at the top of Medical Questions. Check it out.)

It is now over 8 1/2 years since I completed my treatment and I am still symptom free, enjoying my life. I have the same life I had before lyme disease. So, I am cured.

The doc is the key to getting rid of this horrendous disease. Can't emphasize that enough.

There is no standard lyme treatment. So, I recommend you find a doc who follows Burrascano's protocol. You have to ask around for such a doctor.

We will help you here all we can.
