NBC NEWS HEALTH article

http://www.nbcnews.com/health/three-die-suddenly-rare-lyme-disease-complication-2D11733669

"One was found dead in a car that veered off the road. Two others collapsed and died suddenly without warning. All three may have been killed by an infection known for causing long-term misery, but not one usually considered a killer — Lyme disease"

WOW!!! Truly.. I think they are preparing the public for a vaccine. They are scaring them and yes, they SHOULD be scared. We've been saying that for years.

One of these cases was from a year ago. Why was it not reported at that time?

Quote:

"Only four other deaths from Lyme disease have ever been reported, CDC says -- two in Europe and two in the United States. “Pathologists and medical examiners should be aware that Lyme carditis can be a cause of sudden cardiac death,” the agency advises.

Lyme disease is common, and this deadly complication remains very unusual. "We believe it's rare. We are trying to find out how rare," Forrester said.

--

Can you believe they are telling the public that only 4 people have died from Lyme disease!?? I hope this "journalist" means "only" 4 have dropped dead suddenly from it.

I just opened my computer to send a quick joke to someone and I see 3 die from rare disease....

open up the story and a fricking tick as big as you please in my face.

When is this madness going to come to the forefront of every medical publication out there. I'm so tired of reading it only happens in certain states.

It has taken 3 young, much to young to die from lyme cardiac arrest suddenly. With this story
our entire Lyme Community from coast to coast should scream, holler, do whatever we have to do to stop this madness.

I will be up with insomnia tonight.

Lord help us! Please give us a voice and the power to get others to listen and get educated about the truth of Lyme Disease.

Pam

My first reaction after reading this article was "SERIOUSLY who you are lying."

Sadly, only those who have been going through this disease and the brave doctors who have been treating us know the whole truth.

Lymenet alone has thousands of patients posts with their stories of symptoms, treatments, successes, pains and disappointments, dealings with main stream medicine - IS THIS NOT ENOUGH OF MATERIAL FOR BROADBAND STUDY OF LYME DISEASE.

Ignorance is a bliss....until it knocks at your door. And sadly, it will be knocking.

This "slow release" of information is a set-up to scare folks so they will rush to get the new lyme vaccine when it comes out.

This is not to tell folks that, hey, your family doctor is either lying to you or ignorant about lyme so you need to find an ILADS educated LLMD. Not at all. The "well, not much else you can do" approach is just a smokescreen.

They are building fear so the vaccine sales take off. They are not educating with the full facts at all. They are not about education, you see.

Oh, and "rare"? That's not true. These are not the only cases by far. Just undiagnosed, undetected, unacknowledged, untreated.

That's what I said above, Keebler. I agree. In years past they would NEVER have put this on NBC news. This new media blitz is part of their sadistic plan.

It's absolutely disgusting to say that only 4 people have died of Lyme. These people are evil! Not the reporters, they are ignorant and not doing their jobs properly, but the powers that be that we know too well.

This is terribly sad.

Unfortunately a reality for us.

About half of the folks in my support group have ticker issues.

I do.

But it is SO hard to get any specialist, non LL, to even think Bb is a threat, let alone do tests and listen to the patient.

Especially in BC, where "we don't have lyme here".
It's almost a recording, it comes out in such a monotonous tone.

It would be easier to convince the docs here that the tooth fairy exists.

This is a lead up to vaccine program for sure.

They are doing this here, trying to implement the meningitis vaccine in schools.

Greta,

While I have major issues with mercury, formaldehyde and other additives to many (most?/ all?) vaccines, the meningitis that often hits school can be fatal within hours and it can really hit fast without much warming.

So, that make it a bit different. Meningitis can be caused by various viruses and bacteria (even lyme) but there are some that are just very fast and very contagious. Still, I have concerns regarding the vaccines but it's just not so easy to navigate all . . . (word loss and total inability to wrap this up!). Aspects?

Tetanus is another one that can move very fast (though not contagious in the same manner). Still, I see no movement to "green the vaccines" and am disappointed that idea seems to go no where.

Here is the CDC's report.

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/pdf/wk/mm6249.pdf

This makes me sick. The whole thing makes me sick. So many lies you can't begin to address them all.

Note that they used the organs/tissues from the deceased Lyme patients and transplanted them to someone else. The person who got the transplant (cornea/eye) died shortly afterward. They justified the transplant by saying the donor didn't have eye "symptoms" at the time of their death.

Quote- "Corneas and skin were recovered for donation, and one cornea was transplanted to recipient 3. No other tissue was transplanted.

Recipient 3 was examined 1 week after corneal transplant and was recovering as anticipated. ... The eye bank was informed of the Lyme disease status of the donor and the recommendations for therapy.

Before notification of the Lyme disease status of the donor, recipient 3 died of unrelated causes. No tissues or serum from recipient 3 were available for evaluation."

And how typical this is... in a highly endemic area, Connecticut- the patient lived on wooded lot, exposed to ticks... complained of symptoms before their death and was not given treatment for Lyme...

BUT, the patient was given treatment for anxiety! How often do we see that, write it off as anxiety. UGgggggg!

Quote- "The patient had complained of episodic shortness of breath and anxiety during the 7–10 days before death. No rash, arthralgia, or neurologic symptoms were noted. A physician consulted 1 day before death prescribed clonazepam for anxiety; an EKG was not performed, nor were any antibiotics prescribed."

Another of the deceased victims... patient #2 in the CDC report.

Quote- "Before diagnosis of B. burgdorferi infection, the decedent’s corneas were transplanted to two recipients. The transplanting physicians and cornea recipients subsequently were notified of the donor’s infection.

Neither recipient 1 nor recipient 2 reported signs or symptoms of Lyme disease or problems with the transplanted cornea. Both recipients elected to receive antibiotic therapy with doxycycline. None of the remaining donated tissues were transplanted."

My mom showed me this article today. Actually just posted about it. Scared the crap out of me a little

bit when thinking about my chest pain but luckily I had a clear echocardiogram so thats some

relief..maybe. Sometimes my eyes bother me so much I don't think anyone would even want them. I also

switched from an organ donor to a non organ donor to save someone from this burden.

To do this, they will have to admit that lyme really is a problem.

Why would they do that if it did not serve some self-serving purpose?

Must be planning to get rich off of it i.e. a vaccine.

keebler, I agree on the tetanus and meningitis. In those cases, I think the benefits outweigh the risks.

My son had to have both of those to go on an out-of-the-country mission trip last summer and he did fine with it.

He will also be living in a dorm next year, so I think that meningitis is a real concern.

I just don't understand why we can't develop safer vaccines without the additives.

Surely there's something besides mercury and formaldehyde that could be used as a preservative.

But then they would have to spend some money study and develop it son there's no incentive.

I agree, there is an agenda here. There must be a vaccine in the works.

It's all about the money, and I'm tired of it all.

I remember when I first collapsed from Lyme and was given more than a dozen prescriptions for anxiety and depression, none of which I filled.
I knew I didn't have anxiety or depression, even though I had never been sick in my life. I had so many othe symptoms which were all ignored. Why?

I was so ill and, in retrospect, am surprised I didn't die.

In 2004, a neurologist suspected Lyme (only because I had lived in Virginia for three years)and recommended a Western Blot Test. Unfortunatedly, it wasn't the IGeneX (sp) test, so it came back negative and my Lyme disease journey began.

Nine years later and with confirmed test results I'm still searching for the right treatment.

I'd love to slap a class action suit against the CDC for their ineptitude. Thanks to their ridiculous guidelines, I didn't get diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2004 and had to spend I don't know how much money, time, and aggravation trying to research what was wrong with me. In that time frame, the disease has settled in quite comfortably and has caused more damage.

As Lyme patients, we cannot donate our organs or blood, and I hope everyone knows that. It's a sad truth.

I'm sure it won't be long before we start hearing commericials on t.v. telling us to "Tell someone". Do you remember that one from the Gardasil vaccine? It was a month of constant scare tactics and then, low and behold, a vaccine to prevent any problems for young girls, unless they became deathly ill from the vaccine which many did. Why weren't the boys getting vaccinated; they're the ones who carry the disease? The companies who make vaccines don't care about people but only their bottom line.

Sorry to rant, but I'm just fed up.

Tbrown, warning! I too had a everything is okay on stress test and echo. 18 months later the same tests showed, we have an issue.

It didn't show up on the first test. Believe me the cardio said my heart issues had been developing for years. It was there but tests missed it. 2nd round TBTG, furthering testing was done.

I had 100% blockage of right coronary artery, when a cath was done. The only reason I didn't have a major heart attack was my miracle body had built itself a bypass of the blockage. Of course TBTG!

No wonder since '99 I always felt like death. Lyme can and will damage your heart. I was 42 when this nightmare started.

So much rib/sternum pain, total body pain...if I had chest pain? Of course women have pain in different areas than men.

I'm medication controlled. Doing better. Every 6 mths he does through bloodwork, listening to my body and talking about my experiences.

If I ever suspect(or cardio) it time to go in and do some heart work, it's an option.

The best part is my cardio, regonized my lyme disease as my first illness and he now treats others from my support group. He knows the heart is serious with Lyme Disease. What a blessing.

Don't over look hearts. No matter your age!

Pam

The thing is is that many people die from lyme. Its just not recognized. My doctor has saved quite a few from impending death, the patients coming to them literally on their death beds. The conventional docs had no clue as to what was going on... of course we live in a state where lyme does not exist according to the CDC... meanwhile 4 cases on my road alone, although one was contracted in California.

Yes. people will flock to get the vaccine. Like all other vaccines I will be in a wait and see mode. so far Im still in a wait and see mode for every other vaccine out there.

A lyme vaccine? After the last one, I wonder how safe it will be. And will it cover all the OTHER INFECTIONS? I doubt it.
