I'm jaded but I can't see this as bad, yet. Most surprising thing to me was admittance of sandflies danger which has been a massive threat to U.S. Soldiers.

Those bloody sandflies derailed me.
Serious bartonella infection and God knows what else from sandflies. I hate them.

obviously they don't have all information yet but I agree this isn't bad in fact it's probably really good I wonder if they'll get into diseases that go back and forth between people and dogs
when people and dogs are together I know there is a risk they will share ticks or fleas etcetera but I really wonder about bugs in saliva and urine too-can they go back and forth between us.
At any rate having this taken seriously has got to be bettrr than the way it is discounted with humans

About time-
Although I have no memory of any tick bite, I am convinced I got my horrible case of Bartonella (and possibly more)
from trying to tame and handling a family of wild feral cats many years ago.
