My daughter has been treating for yeast for about 3 weeks now. She takes ketoconazole and nystatin.
We think she was herxing because she was very sleepy at first and didn't feel well again this week. Now, she seems to be feeling better but after she eats, she is very sleepy.
First, she ate some brisket, sausage, and blueberries and needed a nap. Then, she got up, ate some salad and an orange and felt sleepy again. Before she ate, she was talking about jogging. Instead, she went to take another nap.
She has been on the Paleo diet for about a year because she has hypoglycemia. The diet didn't really seem to make much of a difference but she is still doing it.
She has been exercising more and we have thought she might need to eat more carbs because of that, so she has started eating more fruit. She feels bad after working out if she doesn't eat the fruit.
Any ideas about what this could be? Is it related to candida? or blood sugar issues?

This is just my opinion, but I think it is related to blood sugar swings.
I would suggest adding cinnamon to her supplements. 500 mg capsules once or twice a day can help regulate blood sugar.
I do not have lyme, but have polycystic ovaries which also cause insulin resistance. Taking cinnamon lowered my fasting insulin levels back into normal range.

I agree with Bea.
My drowsiness after eating was due to insulin resistance. My A1c is fine...but insulin is not.
Metaglycemx might help. I used that until my regular Dr put me on Glumetza.

She may want to look into food combining. It is one of the keys of the Body Ecology Diet (for yeast). If you eat fruit with other foods, it will ferment in the gut. You don't want that.
She should also not eat starches with proteins. Same thing.. it won't digest well.
If she is working out, she will need some carbs. I would suggest vegetables for the carbs. Even carrots would be helpful.
Some fruits contain too much sugar and can cause the blood sugar to drop after the blood sugar goes UP, it must and will come DOWN.
You may want to see this info on making/eating sauerkraut:

It is just so hard to believe that she would get a blood sugar crash after eating meat and blueberries! If so, this problem is getting worse. I thought eating low carb was supposed to prevent this?
She is still below 100 g carbs a day. It is all fruits and vegetables. When she was around 50 g of carbs, she was feeling bad when she started working out. We thought adding carbs would help and it did seem to, until this last week.
We stopped her abx and started treating yeast. Of course I am a little concerned she needs her abx.
Any ideas about why it is getting worse?
When she first was tested about a year ago, her insulin was high by functional medicine standards, not mainstream. The next time, her insulin level was fine.
