katrinab, I use Custom Probiotics (http://www.customprobiotics.com/), and they say that
"One can travel with our probiotics for 2-3 weeks without refrigeration. It is best however to keep probiotics refrigerated for optimum potency."

Also, Florastor (s. boulardii) should not be refrigerated.

I like Thorne's Bacillus Coagulans and also use the Prescript Assist one. I think they have been of help with IBS -type symptoms and I especially like the former.

Primal Defense is similar to Precript Assist and needs no refrigeration. They work on a different principle than the others.

Theralac can stay out the refrigerator for a few weeks also. (as can Custom Probiotics mentioned above)

The really good probiotics require refrigeration.

Those are not high in CFU's, but I guess if we're adding those with low count, we could add Dr Ohira's and the Pearls.

Same as 'Florastor'. I've heard and read many competing thoughts on whether or not refrigeration is advised for S.B.

As far as refrigeration for s.boulardii, I think NO is the answer.

I've got a bottle and it says no.

Do you take probiotics once or twice a day? I'm on pretty heavy abx right now.

I take them 3x a day, mid morning 2 hrs away from ABX, mid afternoon, 2 hrs before ABX, then 2 at night. Along with the liver supporting supplements.

Been dealing with yeast anyway...

Three times a day if you can. I usually take them twice a day. First thing in the morning and last thing at night.
