I've heard Oxygen is good for lyme patients. My gym has an oxygen bar, I started using it cause I figured why not. Considering getting my own.

Thoughts?

I have been intrigued when I see them, but never tried one.

I am sure they are with and without the good

Bumping up. Anyone else doing this?

I have had long term low level CO exposure and my PCP wants me to do home oxygen - even though I am feeling fine now. Wondering if this oxygen bar would be another alternative.

How is that different from just using an oxygen tank?

I would not waste money on an "Oxygen Bar" for therapeutic value...

Unless you have a condition that lowers the oxygen saturation capabilities of your blood cells (like emphysema), for most people, breathing additional 02 may not have noticeable benefit.

However, in some cases, doctors have reported the benefit of supplemental oxygen to patients with other types of chronic illnesses/conditions, (e.g., CFS, migraines, etc.), but for therapeutic use such as this, it is necessary to monitor dosage, purity, flow rate, response, etc., and a prescription is required.

In addition, considering that you are breathing regular room air with oxygen simultaneously through a nasal cannula at an oxygen bar, you are likely to get less than 50% oxygen (atmospheric oxygen is 21%).

It is also concerning that you wouldn't know how clean the equipment is kept (filters, tubing, etc.), or what ingredients the added "aromas" contain.

Hyperbaric oxygen is a different therapy altogether, as oxygen breathed under pressure "overflows" the saturated red blood cells and is diffused into plasma, fluids, tissues, etc.; into places not reached by circulation...with many healing benefits...

BS. O2 sat can be normal but O2 is NOT getting into the cells. I've recommended oxygen therapy for intractable lyme cases with good results. in my own case, i started using oxygen and it helped alot with recovery.

I don't disagree...as I mentioned, some doctors have reported benefit using supplemental oxygen with chronic illnesses.

I personally became well with hyperbaric oxygen...

I don't advocate Oxygen Bars for therapeutic purposes, for the reasons stated above.
