My teeth hurt and hum all day and mostly in bed in the morning hours. The pain is at the base of the tooth down to the bone of different teeth and rotates from front teeth to back ones 24/7.
I am in soooo much pain that a trip to the ER is in order. My dentist was no help, had no idea what was going on, but knows I have Lyme & co.
The jaw feels weak and tight and spasms, feels like someone is poking a fingers into the outside of my jaw. I also have now nerve zingers all over my cheekbones and front of my neck. My tongue and inside of cheeks sometimes have a mild burnign sensation, lots going on all at once. This tooth issue migrated from an eye and sinus issue that is also very bad, but this pain is far worse and came on suddenly after starting Zithromax. I am currently on that, IV Doxy and Rifampin and these things are NOT helping.
Any ideas for relief for me please? I have no idea what is going on.

Oh no! Cattail! You poor poor thing
I don't know much about tooth pain...
But did your dentist suggest a night guard?
It has made a huge difference in my morning tooth ache.
Also, and this is probably something you've tried already but a gel ice pack -the long thin kind wrapped and tied around your jaw?
Like in the pics from the 1800's after a dentists visit?
Not sure where you live but acupuncture may be able to help the nerve zingers.
I live in a big city and some dentists offer acupuncture for nerve blocks.

I have had so much tooth pain with no apparent reason for (got checked out at dentist)
I think lyme loves the teeth, especially deep down where you are describing
Have you tried oil pulling? It really helped with pain I was having in one of my teeth
I use coconut oil, but others use sesame (make sure it's organic)
I use about a tablespoon and swish around mouth for 15-20 minutes-BUT DO NOT SWALLOW IT-SPIT IT OUT! (it pulls out toxins-you don't want to reabsorb them)
You can't lose much by trying it, I hope it works for you!

I have dealt with TMJ before- grinding of the teeth. Lyme sure made me grind my teeth! Mouth guard helped me too.
I put heat on my jaw and across my teeth.
Could you have sinus infection?
Just throwing things out. Sounds painful and I am sorry.

Before I was diagnosed, tooth pain was one of my worst symptoms. No cause could be found. In my case, I think it was nerve pain caused from Lyme.
Treatment made the difference. I wonder if the Zithromax you are taking is stirring things up? Definitely let your doctor know. Sensitive toothpaste may be helpful over time.
I hope this goes away for you soon, I know it is terrible.

I agree with Sammi that it is nerve pain. I had tooth pain as well but interestingly for the most part only in my crowned teeth. I have one in each quadrant and around and around it would go.
Have you tried backing off the Zithromax? I know zithromax can cause a buzzing in the ears, which I am guessing is nerve related. Perhaps it is doing something similar to the nerves in your teeth?

Thanks all. I am no better. See the LLND tomorrow thank goodness. I now have itching on my face, around mouth, and on jaw area, up by ears. Where there is pain in the teeth and gums, bone, I have some itching above these areas and tiny little pimples (just a few come after itching. It's like something is trying to break through. Also, now my throat is starting to hurt more, on the outside to touch also.

I had itchy ears (interior and exterior), itchy eyes, tooth pain, jaw pain, jaw clenching. It was parasites. Parasite treatment took care of all of it (gone).

I hope the LLMD was of some help. One of the symptoms of PR is tooth pain. I had a little bit of it but it is gone. It was stabbing pain, not aching. More like nerves.
Bartonella can also affect the teeth but I think it would give you gingivitis and mouth sores, not just pain.

I can only take a guess here about whether you might be needing some hands-on cranial therapy.
I went through a lot of dental pain after a car accident that impacted my head - after that, I dealt with pain in the mouth, the cheeks, the sinuses - I was ruled out by dental departments for anything they could find.
Then my chiropractor said he'd try some cranial therapy. I lay down on my back, he put his hands on my head and felt for pulses between all the bones of the skull as he gently moved the head bones, and lastly he put some pressure on sinuses in the face.
My pain went down immediately. Here I thought I was going to die from the pain, and suddenly it was over!
He explained the 5th cranial nerve has three branches that come out across the face - higher by the eyes, above the top teeth, and down by the lower teeth. It can feel like face and dental pain but it's actually head bone displacement.
To check this out, you need to see someone who's trained in hands-on cranial-sacral work.

All righty, thank you all for your responses, help. I am always grateful to learn and investigate, broaden my knowledge even though I read things so many times over before I have a memory and understanding. You guys are great.
I had my appoinment with my old LLND who I have started back with recently. He wants to treat mold first. He does not disagree with my ideas about parasites / Babesia and proto, but really believes that i have a mold issue first and foremost.
The scarey thing is that he wants me to come off my IV Doxy and Zithro and Rifampin - no abx for now. Just one month ago 1 started the the Zithro and it is taking a lot of inflammation away right now and slightly making me more like my happy self. I told him I have tiny bits of Lyme and Bart symptoms still, but he thinks they should be gone. I am afriad I will feel like crap more than I do now in just a matter of days. I have had this untreated co-infection no matter what it is for about a year now and feel like it has prevented me from staying at 70% I was before a year ago after treating Lyme and Bart for a year and a half.
So, right now, due to Zithro, I have both stirred up the face and head, eye, teeth issue, but feel it may be helping with the Bart. So, now I am a huge ball of stress.

What makes your LLND think it is mold? Did you have some exposure in the past? It will be interesting how you feel after stopping the ABX and starting mold treatment. Good luck and keep us posted.

I hope you can find some relief but if zithro is helping maybe you should continue it.
If you were treating borellia and bartonella for a year and a half, maybe he is right, it is something else, but not necessarily mold.
Can he give you a test to tell if you have been exposed to mold?

Cattail...if you have sufficient funds... a photon therapy machine set for "nico" settings (dental) and applied to your jaw area...first one side and then the other...might help...significantly.
I have the unit and a lyme patient (friend) visiting this area with dental problems came to my house to use it. She said it helped a lot.
I'm only able to tell you what SHE TOLD ME.
The machine is expensive. The one I have runs $849. I bought it in hopes it would help my sis when she came to visit.
It is a very "local" therapy!!!
You MIGHT be able to contact the company and see if there are any "alternative" practitioner . in your area that have one for you to try.
I live in an "alternative friendly" state.

"I told him I have tiny bits of Lyme and Bart symptoms still, but he thinks they should be gone."
"Should" and "reality" are two different things. It sounds like the ND doesn't know what's going on and that you're not comfortable with his assessment because he couldn't give you a clear answer.
Something is causing the pain and it could be a med, Lyme or something else entirely. I hope you can find the cause.
Do you think you should continue with all the meds?
Perhaps just discontinue one and see what happens (going off all at once won't help determine if it's one of them causing the problem).
Can you afford to get another opinion?
I've had medications and dental material allergies cause terrible TMJ, ear itching, pain, etc....
I went to a pain management clinic and they helped with exercises to decrease the pain.
My ND had me start drinking wood betony tea before bed to help with jaw tightness when I slept.
What helped finally get rid of the pain was removing the dental materials and discontinuing a med that was causing the jaw tightness.

If you have Lyme and are sensitive to mold and are being exposed to mold, this is definitely something that needs to be addressed as the mold sx are the same as the Lyme sx ( a lot of them) and it's hard to tell what is what.
