So, I haven't had much in the way of snot for a couple years, but I still get the feeling of blocked nasal passages at times. Any idea why that is? It is the type of blockage you would get with a stuffy nose, but mine is not stuffy.
I guess it's some sort of inflammation? It seems more disturbing to me to have this feeling *without* having the snot.
Should I be breathing essential oils or something?

I've had a chronic runny nose for the better part of the past four years or so. It's just drips clear fluid, and like you said "no snot".
It's the least of my sx worries, but I do track the severity in my day to day sx log.
I don't dare take any drugs to mask this. My kitchen counter is cluttered enough and CVS gets too much of my paycheck as it is.

You could put some in the palms of your hands and then cup your hands over your nose. Breathe deeply about 10 times. At least that is how I do it!
Steam sounds great!

I was at a friend's and she was running the dishwasher with some conventional soap. My nose completely blocked off from the fumes (not runny, just inflammation). I had to go outside til it aired out.
The VOCs in a lot of essential oils/scented products make my nasal passages swell up even worse.
What actually unblocked my sinuses the most was avoiding scented products, VOCs and getting dental material out of my mouth that I was allergic to.
There could be mucous trapped way up in the sinuses. It can get really solid and not be runny.
An ENT can look up there and see if anything is blocking like a cyst. Sometimes people get those up there.
Steam may help with the herb thyme (not the oil). Put a towel over you head and the steaming hot water with the herb under it to breath.
If someone can show you how to use a netti pot, there could just be dust/pollen irritating your nose and making it swell up, not runny.
Also foggy, humid weather can make the sinuses swell up.

I also put 5 or more drops of YL Lavender in a capsule twice a day with 3 drops of Frankincense mixed in. No stuffiness when I sleep. Using more often as pollen is already out in our area.
Also, there are ultrasonic diffusers with water that you can put the oils in. There are quite a few of them that will open up the sinuses.
I use them because I love how I feel when I diffuse.

sometimes I put a few drops of white thyme oil in the bottom of the tub before I hop in for a shower. steam it up good, then I step in. most of it vaporizes and it doesn't bug the soles of my feet.
if I don't have the energy for a shower, (like recently), I put some hot water in the sink, pull the plug, add the drops of oil, turn the tap on, lean over the steam and breathe in.
I have a cold air diffuser but I use that for thieves.
