Hi all, haven't been here in a long while. I broke my back and have been trying to get used to a level of everyday pain, doing okay. However, just recently I have had new pain, in new places. upper arms, mid back in particular. Here's my question...I have always been worried about relapse... wouldn't I be having some other symptoms besides pain? I have no other issues like I had before--the tingles, numbness, or shooting electrical stuff--but I am in big time pain and the pain mgmt. guy (new appointment today) mentioned fibromyalgia. EEK...am I relapsing? Should I call my llmd?

HI Beth!! Welcome back! I would think that you would feel ill if you were relapsing.

Have you had an MRI of your upper back and neck?

How is your intake of magnesium? Taking plenty?

I'll move this to Medical Questions for you so you can get more help.

Hi Lymetutu! I am not taking magnesium lately. The pain doc has scheduled me for an MRI, for which I was grateful...he wasn't just shuffling me off with a fibro dx. I will start back on my magnesium. He is also doing a bone scan.
I'm just in so much pain I started to wonder about relapse. But I would not say that I feel ill, just hurt. Thank you!

Beth22, it's quite normal for a major stressor and a severe back injury is a BIG time stressor to your body.

Yes, call your LLMD and see if they can also help keep the lyme bacteria count at bay. They love a weakness, an area of body that is struggling.

Fight them off with LLMD.
