Has anyone tried this medication in conjunction with their lyme and co-infection treatment? My psych doc suggested I try it for my brain fog, memory and neuro symptoms.
Has it helped anyone?

Years ago a neurologist prescribed it for me. I cannot say it really helped. I was very ill at the time and on all sorts of different antibiotic combinations. However, the next visit I saw my LLMD he seemed horrified that I was taking Aricept and said "you don't need to be taking that". In my state of brain fog, I do not even think I asked why he thought that, but I did stop taking it.
So might be a good idea to research possible side effects and other potential issues with the drug before you make the final decision.
Sorry I do not know more ... just thought I would throw that out there since I do remember it vividly.

I've been taking Aricept for about 3 years.
I was diagnosed with Lyme last summer but have been treated for seizures, thyroid problems, a sleep disorder (I stopped getting natural REM sleep), and worst of all....my memory suddenly deteriorated, since 2003.
These conditions are all unexplained, I was 34 when they started. My doctor put me on Aricept 3 years ago and it made a huge difference. The initial diagnosis was brain damage due to the cumulative affects of head trauma (had a full neuro-psych eval) but is now trying to determine if I possibly had a Lyme infection years ago as most of my medical problems are also common problems with co-infections.
There's always the possibility that whatever caused my memory problems, if not a previous Lyme infection, responds differently to Aricept than memory problems associated with Lyme, so I can't really say whether or not it will help you, but it did wonders for me.
