Anyways - thought it was interesting because I've always slept in 4 hour blocks. And after waking up the first time I would get anxious or nervous about falling back to sleep. And if I couldn't id be upset.
This article talks about older, older generations ALL woke for 1-2 hours then went back to sleep for their "2nd sleep."
It was so common that people refered to them as 1st sleep and 2nd sleep.
Pretty interesting.

I've heard this and found it to be true. If I can't get back to sleep after my first four hours, then I read for a while and get back to sleep easily for my second four hours.
