Hi y'all! I'm about to begin on the Cowden protocol, but I have a question I'm just not being able to find the answer to....
Does anyone know how iron supplementation interacts with the Cowden protocol?
My hemoglobin and RBC levels are just at the bottom of acceptable range, I have babesia, I have been severely anemic before, and right now I have low body temperature and am loosing hair like crazy (again ) and have been for about four months. (I know that isn't really a harmful symptom, it is just a bit humbling--and my hair was really just beginning to look good again when I started Lyme treatments last year....) All these things cause me to wonder if it would be beneficial to supplement iron, along with the B vitamins, but I can't seem to find out how that might interact with the Cowden protocol and/or with the metal detoxing inherent in that....
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Not sure about how it interacts, but the bottom line is: Feed Your Body First.
Worry About The Rest Later.
If you are anemic, supplement with iron, like proferrin.
If you need magnesium, supplement with magnesium, like bisglycinate.
Our bodies cannot heal with deficiencies.

I don't know about interactions, but I am anemic (not due to Lyme and Co) and cannot skip taking iron. I took it when I was on Cowden. I'd ask your LLMD to be sure .... but there was no way I was not going to take iron.

Thank you both...I think I am definitely going to try some for a while, anyways, as I am certain I'm not already iron toxic....
Greta, I've been taking magnesium for a while now...and thank you for the reminder that we cannot heal with basic deficiencies....
