I have been taking Epson Salt baths now for about a month. I am currently on Doxy/Zithro/Rifampin. I should have researched more in advance, but I just read that Magnesium Sulfate decreases doxy's effectiveness...and I also am reading a lot about Milk thistle's interactions with Rifampin.
I Noticed recently that my pee isn't turning orange with the Rifampin like it was when I first went on it, so something has got to go. Stopping the MT and epson salt for now...

I also know that Rifampin won't cause bacteria resistance as easily if you are taking other drugs like doxy before and after it, so I'm a little concerned about the Epson salt bath's interactions with the doxy. I have been taking 300mg a day with the Rifampin

Is it magnesium sulphate?
Or just magnesium?
My doxy says not to take with magnesium containing products. (or calcium, other mineral supplements)
I asked the pharmacist and was told to take my magnesium 4 hours away from when I take the doxycycline.
I guess the magnesium interferes with the absorption of the tetracyclines in the digestive tract.
In regards to the rifampin not turning your urine orange anymore.
This happened to me as well. I asked my LL about it.
The color of urine is not an indicator of efficacy of rifampin.
Some people it never turned their urine orange.
I was told it has more to do with hydration.
If it helps to ease your mind about the rifampin
