I jus refilled my bp meds and noticed the doctors name was somebody i've never heard of.
this happens alot. have you noticed this? is it legal or what?

If the doctor is in a group practice and does not circle his name on the letterhead of the Rx slip (or in some other way give his name), then the pharmacy just uses the name of the doctor that appears first in the practice.
They can't possibly guess as to which doctor it was who wrote the Rx. So, that is why this happens so much.

hmmm not sure if I agree with this. I mean the pharmacist knows my doctor well.

Definitely make sure you have the right medication and dose.
