I've read about side effects of flagyl and augmentin. A lot sound like herxes.
Maybe some people don't know they have lyme. How can you honestly tell?

I never could. Your body has just so many ways to tell you that you are sick or toxic, and symptoms often overlap.
I think it's a guessing game for doctors, as well. It is not an exact science, but an educated guess (??).

I think that there are definite side affects to some anti biotics that are not hexes at all. I have had some of that happen to me over time and was told to keep pushing through but I could tell it was the medication causing the problems.
I kinda proved that to myself when I could not tolerate oral flagyl but IV was great! Then I had a compounder create a clean flagyl using no additives or filers or colors and a gentle form used in mixing liquids.
I could tolerate it as if I was taking nothing at all and just reaped the benefits.
There are fillers and types and forms that our bodies respond negatively to that are not herxes at all
Be careful and list to your body!

You could also ask are herxes actually side effects? This whole mess is so confusing!
