The WFL hunts for insects to eat at night. While doing so, it is covered in Bb infected ticks which, when full, fall off and no longer contain Bb.

I order to see in dim light, the WFL has to have a lot of eye rods which produce rhodopsin = an enzyme and scramblase.

Dr. Robert Lane of Berkely said there is an enzyme in the WFL's blood that is capable of destroying Bb

IN THE TICK.

Now...rhodopsin converts to transducin which clears cGMP = cyclin GMP (not c-di-cGMP)

WFL? White-footed (little?) mouse, a good guess.

Western Fence Lizard, perhaps, since there is a reference to its blood being able to destroy borrelia and I recall reading that years ago about this little critter which favors N. California.
