Please try to follow:

The WFL hunts for insects to eat at night. While doing so, it is covered in Bb infected ticks which, when full, fall off and no longer contain Bb.

I order to see in dim light, the WFL has to have a lot of eye rods which produce rhodopsin = an enzyme and scramblase.

Dr. Robert Lane of Berkely said there is an enzyme in the WFL's blood that is capable of destroying Bb

IN THE TICK.

Now...rhodopsin converts to transducin which clears cGMP = cyclin GMP (not c-di-cGMP)

https://quizlet.com/130343524/chapter-15-cell-signaling-flash-cards/

Bb needs *cyclic* di GMP when in the tick.

https://iovs.arvojournals.org/article.aspx?articleid=2122982

The conversion of c-di-GMP to c-GMP involves:

Rpfg (a response regulator is needed for quorum sensing is involved in

*oxygen sensing. *

Rpfg has a HD-GYP domain and

hydrolyses cyclic di GMP to cGMP (which is degraded by transducin)

O2 sensors control c di GMP (esp. when O2 is limited.)

Repeating... O2 limited, cGMP is up and transducin clears cGMP,

closing the sodium channel.

***On the flip side, HBOT -> lowers cGMP (like transducin does).***

PMID: 786572

Bb has sodium antiporters (genes)...several.

cGMP dependent PKG (protein kinase gamma).

Lower cGMP and PKG is kaput.

WFL? White-footed (little?) mouse, a good guess.

Western Fence Lizard, perhaps, since there is a reference to its blood being able to destroy borrelia and I recall reading that years ago about this little critter which favors N. California.
