So I tested positive for Lyme through Igenex, and negative by CDC. I did an entire co-infection panel through MD labs and I had a positive ELISA test for Anaplasmosis. My symptoms are vast...I'm so confused as to which co-infection I should be looking at, because I seem to have symptoms of bartonella also.
Symptoms: -Chronic Fatigue -Low cortisol -Low ACTH -Inability to exercise/tolerate any stress -Low ADH -Low VEGF -High ECP -High Reverse T3 -High calcitriol (active vitamin D 2x the range) -Depression -Anxiety -ADHD -Anger -Tinnitus (lifelong) -Joint Pain -Appetite issues
A year ago I was training hard in the gym, weighed 230 and was ready to compete in powerlifting, I am now 170 lbs, unable to work, go to school, or tolerate stress of any kind. I had a tick bite at the age of 13, and had weird minor symptoms over the years that I'm now starting to think about...I was under a lot of stress this past year, and this debilitating fatigue just hit me and I lost everything.
I'm currently trying to beat this thing. I'm worried that I'm going to have to drop out of college because there is no way I could tolerate the stress of going to classes, on top of having ADHD.
So far my LLMD and I started with minocycline 100 mg 2x a day, been on that for two weeks. I had even more fatigue from that, I'm assuming that was a herx reaction. We then added rifampin, 300 mg 2x a day, but I had no reaction to that. Now I just started Flagyl, 250 mg 2x a day. This is day two, and I think I am getting a herx reaction, or side effects maybe. I'm feeling really depressed and also more fatigued as well.
Are we on the right track? Anyone have any positive stories for anaplasmosis, and should I be investigating co-infections more?

Here's a thread with other things to test for:
For me, the h. pylori needed to be addressed first because if you're gut isn't working right, you're going to have problems with any oral meds that you treat with.
Having tested positive for 13 co-infections, they are definitely something to consider.
Also, not everyone has a noticeable herx. Sometimes people just get better and better.
Minocycline caused me horrible fatigue and vertigo. I eventually had an allergic reaction to it.
A lot of docs give minocycline during the summer instead of doxycycline because doxy causes sun sensitivity.
I went back to doxy and just stay out of the sun. No issues with doxy if I take it with food.
