Years ago I started Doxy 50 mg/day for dry eyes.
A couple of years ago I upped the dose to 100 mg/day.
I handled the 50 mg fine. Now not so sure about the 100 mg dose.
Past year have had horrible headaches and felt much worse mentally and physically.
I thought perhaps Gammagard/Gamunex headache - so lowered the dose. Skipped infusions.
Went on/off Zith and Bicillin to see how I felt.
Doxy has been my only constant drug all this time.
The other night I took a Doxy - and - bam - headache.
Researched - and read horror stories about side effects of Doxy. Folks taking it for acne etc.
Headaches, head pressure. Depression. Anxiety. Suicidal thoughts. Joint and muscle pain. Blurry vision.
I would never have thought the Doxy could be a problem.
This can happen when first starting Doxy and also after having taken it for years?
Thanks any experiences/thoughts.
Needless to say I am stopping Doxy.

First time I was on Doxy, I did ok for a couple of months, then all of a sudden, my colon stopped functioning. I could NOT pass a BM no matter what I tried. I had to stop the Doxy and get colonics to get things to move again.
Then, I tried Doxy last Summer (2013) and after one 50mg dose (IV), I got vertigo. I stopped the Doxy, thinking the vertigo was just a side-effect and it would go away after that one dose wore off.
Well, that was September 30...and here it is July 13 the next year and I'm STILL struggling with 24/7 vertigo.
So now Doxy is on my AVOID list...
