So, my husband got his results back this afternoon and he does not have to have mmr but needs hep b vaccine.

I am not happy about this. He just had the tb test and it has been fine and the spot is not red.

Could there be an interaction between the tb test and hep b vaccine?

Someone said he should avoid aerobic exercise before and after. He will have the vaccine tomorrow at 5:00pm and he swam for a couple hrs until 8 pm. Is that a problem?

Is there anything besides religious exemption?

I know he does not want to make waves or anything cause this job is badly needed. I just really wish he did not have to have this hep b vac. He is low risk as he is in IT not nursing or a dr. and he is monogamous and doesnot use iv drugs.

He works for a hospital? I hear they are awful about forcing vaccines.

I'm so sorry you're in this situation. jobs a re hard to come by but they provide heal rtf h benefits we all need.

if I were y'all, I would go for it. eat healthy, get plenty of rest, and no stress. enjoy the j ob and concentrate on doing it well. think positive and pray.

I honestly think he'll be fine. does he have lyme? if not, don't worry. if he does, talk to your llmd and see what he recommends.

I got a job at one of the big hospitals here in the early 80's but I was clerical and didnt have to have shots. I went to central america and had to. boy was I sick. but I have lyme and husband didnt get sick at all.

I guess he will get the hep b as required. We need this job badly.

We will try to take precautions and eat extra healthy.

Perhaps I am over reacting but I just don't want anymore suffering in my family. My illness has made more than enough problems for us.

I appreciate all the responses from you guys on this topic!! Thank you!

I guess you can look at it another way.....assuming the vaccine works.....you would not want hubby to get hep B.

Since he has to have it to work there, might as well look forward to the joy of the paycheck.
