Hi folks -
I could really use some new ideas on how to decrease inflammation, which is a major problem for me.
I'm already gluten and dairy free. Please - more ideas! What else can I do? I think this is a major component of my brain fog/memory issues/inability to concentrate and I really miss my brain.
thanks!

Hi- I am taking about 3 grams a day of Curcumin a day, a mixture of Longvida and Enhansa brands,
to heal gut inflammation. It's working. I divide it 3x a day. It's the best anti- inflammatory for me. Not cheap, but I needed help.
I'm also taking organic coconut oil 3x a day, large tablespoon in hot drinks.
Green tea, Quercetin, even reversatrol did nothing for me re: inflammation, although we are all different- but the Curcumin is a winner for me.
Not sure how long I'm going to continue at this dose, right now it's continuing to still clear stuff. HTH.

The most helpful things I have found that reduced inflammation are:
Systemic enzymes Magnesium Fish oil, pharmaceutical quality
Mechanical means of reducing inflammation are: Far infrared light, 880 wavelength Pulsed magnetic energy
Systemic enzymes make the biggest difference for me. I'm taking Wobenzym...if I stop, the headaches return.
A good quality fish oil helps to relieve my joint pain, and if I switch to a crappy one, I can feel the difference.
Far infrared light and magnetic pulsing have yielded more permanent results. Over the years, I've had numerous painful joints and other things that did not improve until I treated them with magnetic pulsing. Heck, even my hemmorhoids got better!

The Autoimmune Paleo diet brought my inflammation way down.Alot of times just going gluten and dairy free is not enough. Most of the packaged gluten free food is full of stuff to be avoided. My most recent bloodwork showed all my inflammatory markers had normalized.

For inflammation caused by bacterial endotoxins (released from abx treatment or inhanced immune function) Stephen Buhner suggests Japanese knotweed. Autoimmune paleo is working for us as well.

MSM is really helpful (6 grams a day for me) which is about the same as DMSO but oral pills... DMSO is suppose to be more powerful. I have a great pdaper on DMSO that I could email to someone if interested. It tells all the different ways that it can be used.
The more I detox the more the pain and inflammation. On days Im not working on detox things are better. Coffee enemas help more than anything else for me for headaches along with a couple of homeopathic Heel combo remedies and lots of water... and absolutely no sugar or bread.

My personal favorites:
Magnesium (works well with B6)
OmegaBrite (high EPA = omega 3) - take 3 capsules with something "fatty".

CRP and/or sed rate... but I have tons of inflammation and my markers are always low.

A top LLMD has written a book called "The Lyme Inflammation Diet" and it contains a diet plan for reducing inflammation specifically for lyme patients.
It contains four phases and the first phase starts out very strict, but then you begin to add different foods back in during each phase.
When you get to the fourth phase, he allows you to add back gluten and dairy, but I still would not.
It also contains a lot of good information about lyme disease.

Glycox will help a LOT. Amazon.
While some inflammation is necessary in the healing process, too much - ongoing - is harmful.
Curing diseases looks to involve 2 processes:
Cancer...knock out the DNA damaged cell AND lower inflammation.
I linked 2 sites (of many) to prove this under the
oils - metastatic cancer post on lymenet.
Other infections...hit the pathogen AND lower inflammation.
Romanian docs cured 2 early onset Lyme patients by:
1. Restoring (via IV doses)VERY LOW Mg levels. Mg is an anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory and inhibits HMG CoA reductase (works like a statin drug).
AND
2. Gave IV abx.
This is why many current drugs combine an antibiotic with a "steroid" component.
"PV, however, is more sensitive and more specific
than either ESR or CRP when monitoring the activity of rheumatoid arthritis."
In answer to "normal ESR and CRP" rates.
PV = Plasma viscosity.
Which is linked to LDL and HDL levels. High HDL = low PV.
Mitophagy looks to = mitochondrial autophagy ("self eat"/ self destruction to supply nutrients to the rest of the cell to keep it viable - alive.)
Does Bb live off the amino acids released when old damaged mitochondria (powerhouses of our cells containing their own DNA...chains of amino acids and hydrogen) die?

Above and repeating...
CRP (C reactive protein) ESR = sed rate
AND
PV = plasma viscosity
Are the markers for inflammation - with, the latter one being REALLY key.
